Concept of "friendship" in social networks

As you know, I am an old fan of social networks, those kind of exciting dynamically reconfigurable links between people, ideas, ....

But these networks change really the meaning of the word "friendship", with as usual the first circle of intimate friends, but too a lot of rings of "friends".
